• Stated that we have President, VP x 2, Treasurer and secretary open for next school year.

• Voting on new board at Mar 18, 2026 Meeting

Budget

• $29,883.45

  • $10,000 

    • is still for the fence that is in the works. Currently trying to have it be installed for next school year, however maintenance and building permits have been an issue surrounding this installation.

  • $2,500 

    • Mrs. Dermitt is now taking over all Bookfair money, and this is currently what goes to her for spring bookfair.

  • $3,000 

    • for Mrs Lewis and Mrs Munko to spend, that is money that was distributed among the elementary schools when the middle school closed down.

  • $1,000 

    • in checks for misc things

  • All was approved of the budget.

• Pens game, Feb 26th, 

  • Goal is to sell 100 tickets, student that sells the most tickets will get gift cards to spend at the Pens game

  • Aware that it is a school night, but it is $30 and cheaper for a school night game vs a weekend game.

  • Getting shirts through MARK-IM $10 each for CT students and families to wear to Pens game that night. 

• Assembly

  • Spoke how the next one is in the works, and have decided to go about having quality assemblies vs quantity assemblies. 

• Snack Drive

  • Teachers really loved it and going to have one in Feb 24,25,26

  • Sara asked for volunteers to start at 8:30 AM to collect

  • Classroom with the most donations will get front row at the next assembly.

• Bookfair

  • March 2-6th,

  • Sarah asked for volunteers to help because Mrs Dermitt asked PTO for assistance.

  • Crystal will create a sign up for it.

• Dance

  • Split into 2 times for it being K-2

  • Possibly 2/28/26

  • Sarahs husband is DJ, 

  • K-2 is 80’s theme and 3-5 is GLOW theme

  • Going to put money into dance that would otherwise be put into a DJ, so we are going to get black lights.

• Feb 13th valentines day parties

  • All slots are classsrooms have volunteers

• Carnival 

  • Canceled, no one wanted to lead it and with the dance and things for school, we decided that it was not necessary this year.

• Read across America week

  • Crystal, Sam and Reading specialists going to get it set up and planned. 

  • All were in favor of using money toward getting new tokens for the vending machine.

• Fundraisers-Christina

  • Andersons for Easter fundraiser

  • Pies for Mothers day

  • Need help with distribution

• March 25th-Staff easter egg hunt

  • 8Am, need volunteers for that, and need people who will donate gift cards

  • Getting an amazon list together to put in and order for staff.

• Staff appreciation week-May 4th

  • Volunteers are needed for that also.

• Safety day-May 13th

  • Need volunteers to help feed volunteers, 

  • Mrs. Karenbaur asked that it be held in the AM vs the PM because it is very warm and hot for not just the safety people but also the kids. 

• 5th Grade day-May 29th

  • Crystal took lead on this, 

  • Looking into tshirts for 5th grade gift again.

• Field day, JUNE 3rd

  • Megan K and Hannah S taking lead on it this year

  • Megan has a 5th grader and this will be megans last year for planning.

  • Hannah is taking over field day from now on, has kiddos that will be in the school for atleast next 6 years. 

• Staff Comments

  • Kathy Graham is excited about book machine, and offered any help to make it better

  • Money for recess supplies because balls and things have gone over hills where students/staff cannot retrieve them.

  • Christina Karenbaur also brought up outdoor classroom maintenance, if PTO could look into that. 

• Meeting was over by 7:15 PM

·        12/8-12/11 snowflake drive – need volunteers to collect money, must have clearances

·        12/15 Staff Christmas luncheon 10-2?

·        Christmas event 12/16 5:30-8

o   General thought seems to be we will need shuttle with most of the 5th grade families in attendance-Christina to look into with Mrs. Lewis

o   Donation requests will be sent out in the next few days for the cookie decorating station.

o   Lots of craft items in attic that need used up

§  Everyone agreed to just have a multi craft station to use up what we have. We may need to purchase supplemental items for this.

·        Room parties need sent out to parents

·        Taxes are done, only charged $800 with extensive mess!

·        $32,000 in bank account

o   Charleston Wrap fundraiser brought in $1,957.40

·        Sunshine committee asked if PTO willing to decorate outside of school for holidays

o   General consensus-no

·        Check from yearbooks needs cashed?

·        Budget, missed 2 add ins into budget

o   Forgot $200 for teacher retire gifts & $300 for Read across America week

§  All in favor to add into budget

·        Events: all school glow dance broke into 2 sessions per age

·        Need a lead for carnival?

·        Next meeting January 13th

·        Yearbook update: google meet last week, 2 people showed up

·        Future fundraising- all in attendance agreed 2 fundraisers ok to run at same time to give options       

o   Thoughts are Pie Shoppe and Anderson’s candy out of Baden for Spring/Easter fundraiser

• Introductions

• Sarah spoke about the $5 dues and why we have them 

• Class parties

  • Sarah was going to check on if one clearance expires do all of them do?
    
    

• Positive feedback from CT staff on the supply drive.

• Candy Bar Bingo with PTO and PAA

• Mcteacher night

• Assemblies

  • A lot of the ones from previous years are not well received anymore so we got signed up for the BMX assembly. 

  • Cost was $4,000 

  • Butler Eagle was asking questions about it also and interviewed Jamie and Sarah.

  • Assemblies going forward we will not have as many but looking to invest more money into better ones that would be geared more toward the school as a whole vs just certain grade levels

• Picture day

  • All full for volunteers

  • Sarah touched on how the security is tighter this year, and to not have volunteers come earlier than scheduled time.

• Book fair

  • Volunteers needed to run it.

  • October 14-17 during class library time. 

• December Christmas Event

  • Christina was taking that on

  • Andersons in Baden for a Spring fundraiser.

  • Tattoo a teacher

• Yearbook-Heather

  • Photo company is the same, 

  • Cost of the year book is $19.50, PTO sells them for $23.00 in order to cover all costs.

  • Try to sell 351 books each year. 

  • All attendees were in favor of the prices of $23.00 for yearbook sales.

• Crystal- Budget and bi-law review

  • Turkey feather fundraiser

  • Parties for classrooms will all be provided 

  • Glow dance

    • Same day, different times for k-2 and 3-5.

  • Budgets

    • $10,00 stays in account for new fence and chains for swings on playground

    • Library wants to keep on profits from book fair to invest in current library at CT.

    • Stated that we have $30,650 budgeted right now for the year, however that amount can change if parties/events are not as much as prior year. 

  • Taxes and Accountant

    • Spoke to Bonus Accounting and unfortunately our taxes from 2024 have a lot happening so it is going to cost more this year to get taxes in order versus years going forward.

      • Heather suggested getting an estimate from Bonus accounting so that we can input it into the budget what to expect from them in doing the taxes.
